Tis the Season

Hope all of you are having a merry December, staying warm, and enjoying the company of family & friends. Here is a little Christmas poem to brighten your spirits.

Let Everyday Be Christmas
By: Norman W. Brooks

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
Like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf,
the good you do for others is good you do yourself.

Oral Health Care During Pregnancy

The National Maternal & Child Oral Health Resource Center recently convened an Expert Workgroup meeting to discuss oral health care during pregnancy.  They published their results in this 24 page PDF document for health care professionals and expecting families to use as a guide for health during and after pregnancy.  Click on this Link to view the Consensus Statement from the American Dental Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  There is a table of contents so you don't have to read all 24 pages.  We hope this is a valuable tool for our patients.

Wow! What a great summer!

As you may have noticed, the last post was way back in March... The office has been busy this summer.  If you have been in recently you may have seen some new faces.  We continue to try and better ourselves as a team as well as individuals with the end goal being to provide a better experience for our patients.  Our staff was able to participate in a outdoor adventure retreat in Park Rapids, MN.  We hope to add pictures and stories of that experience.  What a possitive and exciting day!
As football season approaches, so does the school year.  Which also means the Doctors and staff will be "going back to school"  in the form of continuing education classes to stay up on current advances in dentistry and patient care.  Check out http://www.heartlandstudyclub.org/ if you are interested in what we will be covering this year.

March Madness!!!

Sorry basketball fans, the only time I ever care about basketball is March Madness.  The best part is finding a Cinderella team.  Half of the 1st round is complete and there has only been 1 upset.  This has the making of a rather boring tournament bracket.  Watching the dunk-fest that was Minnesota's opening game of the Not In Tournament has been the highlight for me thus far.  Good luck to you in your brackets.  I will be cheering on any and all Big Ten teams, as well as listening for the John Madden of basketball Dick Vitale.

Smoking linked to poor oral health

Check out this link from the American Dental Association.  We all know that smoking has harmful effects for your health.  This article briefly touches on the fact that smokers are far more likely to have had oral health problems than people who have quit smoking or have never smoked.  Smoking linked to poor oral health

We truly believe our patients return to our practice because they feel connected with our staff.
Most patients feel that they deserve our full attention when they come to us to manage or improve their oral health.  We feel the same way.  In an effort to fully engage our patients, we have decided to try and offer more ways for us to interact.
To do this we have started a web site at:  http://www.paultronsgarddental.com/   as well as a     Facebook page at:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tronsgard-Sullivan-DDS-PC/349606721718849  and this Blog Page.
We hope to use these tools to provide information on dental technology, ways you can improve your oral health at home, and a message board for you to post questions to us.
